Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory Reflection

Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions Theory, established by Geert Hofstede, is a structure used to comprehend the distinctions in cultures across countries and to distinguish the ways that business is done within different cultures.

In sport culture plays a major role becuase of cours every country has their unique beliefs and values that then are reflected on their behaviours. This influences the sport as different behaviours are more beneficial for different sport types. Also within each sport when there is multicultural environment it makes the team much more efficient as there is knowledge from different cultures that improve many skills.

There are six different dimentions that affect behaviour according to Hofstede's theory: Power Distance, Individualism vs. Collectivism, Uncertainty Avoidance, Masculinity vs. Femininity, Long-Term Orientation vs. Short-Term Orientation, Indulgence vs. Restraint.

All of these dimentions were designed to define culture. And of course each of these different dimentions alter depending on the country, moreover, that is what then influences not only in sport but in life in general in that country.
